Thinking I was going to spoil the family with an outing to a local 'resort' - ROOS SE OORD, we packed the car, and set out for some fishing. All had gone well, until we booked in. Approximately R750 later, we were unpacked in an awful little bungalow. Thin mattresses covered cement bunks. A fridge adorned the 'kitchen' with no running water and an outside toilet with no place to clean your hands afterwards. We were required to evacuate the bungalow by 13:00 the following day. By 08:00 the next morning, the next 'tenants' were at our doorstep and waiting for us to leave. By ten the place was cleaned and signed off so I could reclaim my R300 deposit. By the time we left, the person responsible for repaying my money, was no longer available. The person in the office, however, took my signed paper (apparently the only proof that I haven't stolen the fridge or the mattresses!!!). Believing that I will have no problem getting my money back, we left only to return a couple of days later after no one has contacted me regarding my deposit! I was informed that my paper was not available but the issue will be discussed with the owners of the resort.
I returned today - only to be met with extreme hostility!!
I was made out to be a dishonest, common chancer before I was chased off the property. Even dared to report the issue to local police "as if this is the first time we were threatened with this" (spoken by the owner!!)
I have never been treated l ike this before.
After questioning their ethics of practice, I left.
They have lost at least ONE prospecitve customer! How much further must something like this go before people realise that you cannot treat your customers this way?!
